Welcome to C.H. Campbell Kindergarten!
Your child is being offered a program which provides developmentally
appropriate activities and an exciting environment in which to learn! We invite you to support and participate in your child’s education!
C.H. Campbell Kindergarten seeks to balance child-initiated learning with
teacher-guided and supported activities in a happy environment! Children
experience independence and hands-on learning activities to promote success in reading, writing, and problem solving. These experiences will provide
opportunities to help your child grow academically, emotionally, and socially
every day!
ATTENDANCE
Consistent attendance is essential for your child to obtain the maximum
benefit from our kindergarten program. School hours are 8:45-3:30. Please send a note if your child is tardy, will be picked up, needs to be dismissed early, or is returning to school after an absence. You must always sign your child out in the office.
CLOTHING
Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for PE activities
(i.e. tennis shoes and comfortable clothing). Your child needs to wear socks each day. A schedule of our special classes including gym, library, music, and computers will be sent home. Your child will use “messy” things in kindergarten—glue, play dough, markers, paint, etc., so please dress them in clothes that can get “dirty”. Please be sure your child can “operate” his/her own clothes, such as fasteners on overalls, snaps, buttons, tights, etc. Coats, mittens, boots, scarves, etc., MUST be labeled with your child’s name!!!!!
TEACHER/PARENT CORRESPONDENCE
Our class uses the BLOOMZ app. This app allows me to post important dates, update everyone, send whole class and private messages, post class photos, request class volunteers and supplies, and we also do conference sign ups on BLOOMZ. As a parent you will be able to post, message, and sign up for things through the app. It's important that you allow notifications.
DAILY FOLDER
A folder will be used to send items home from school. PLEASE CHECK THIS FOLDER EVERY DAY. Please use this folder to send homework, notes, etc., to school, as well. It will be your child’s responsibility to deliver the contents to me into a designated tray each day—therefore, it is essential for you to review and remove the contents before school the next day.
SNACK
Please provide a small, nutritious snack for your child each day that can be eaten in approximately 10 minutes. Please do not send a drink.
CONFERENCES
Parents are invited to attend two parent/teacher conferences held in
November and February.
BIRTHDAYS
A small treat which can easily be passed out by your child is welcome. Please do not send in drinks, or anything that needs to be cut with a knife. Your child may bring the treat in his/her backpack. If you choose to bring it to school, please deliver it to the office. All birthday treats will be distributed in the cafeteria during lunch. Birthday party invitations will NOT be distributed at school. We will celebrate summer birthdays in May/June.
SCHOOL PARTIES
We will have three school-sponsored parties: Halloween, Christmas, and
Valentine’s Day. These parties are planned by PTO. If you would like to be part of these celebrations, you may sign up when information is sent home.
TOYS
Please do not allow your child to bring any toys, games, stuffed animals,
etc., from home. You will receive a note if/when there are designated days to bring items like these from home.
CONTACT INFORMATION
BLOOMZ is the best way to contact me. I can also be reached prior to the beginning of school through email. I hope to hear from you soon! [email protected]
